I was taking antibiotics for three days for UTI. I noticed a strong smell after peeing, stronger than before taking antibiotics. Pain and urgency are gone, but smell is stronger. What does this mean that antibiotics not working? Thank you.

First of all, no it doesn’t mean the antibiotics aren’t working. When you take antibiotics your urine can have a strong smell. It means that your body is flushing out a lot of stuff. You will probably notice that the urine is darker than usual too. Don’t worry. That said, be sure you don’t stop taking the antibiotics without being told to by your doctor. It is very important to take all of the medication even if you start to feel better before they are finished. If you stop taking them early you run the risk of breeding so-called super-bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. Then the infection can come back and the antibiotics won’t work.
